Our Mission & Vision

We are committed to being “REAL PEOPLE, MEETING REAL NEEDS IN JESUS’ NAME” as we work to fulfill the Great Commandment & the Great Commission
Pastor Dwain Carter

Dwain grew up in North Missouri where he lived and worked as an auto mechanic until God called him into the ministry, following that call he led 3 different churches in Missouri for 21 years before moving to the Missouri Baptist State Convention as the Director of Disaster Relief and Volunteer Missions Mobilization. After serving in that role he moved to Texas to become the Director of Disaster Relief and Mission Mobilization Team Leader for Texas Baptist Men prior to becoming the Pastor at Tilden Baptist in 2020.

Dwain has traveled extensively leading people in missional engagement all over the world.

Dwain is married to Leslie and they have 2 daughters and son in laws and 6 grandchildren and a pup named Anne.

Jennifer Wheat, Minister of Discipleship

Jennifer and her husband, Chad, have been married 19 years and have both a son and daughter. Raw and real are what Jennifer leads her ministry with. Years of feeling she needed to keep everything together and not let the world see the brokenness, only led to depression, feelings of anxiety and no self-worth. Jennifer has always loved the Lord but never allowed herself to be real and vulnerable until she broke completely at the feet of Jesus. It was then, that Jennifer removed the mask, bared the scars, and allowed the world to hear her story. The best way to share the Gospel is to share what Jesus has done for us, and Jennifer prides herself in that. “I am beautifully broken and pursued by God. Created on purpose for a purpose”.

Her favorite scripture is Psalm 51:12

Jennilee Naylor, Ministry Assistant

Jennilee and her family are not strangers to the McMullen County area. She is a McMullen County graduate and has lived here for over 21 years. Her husband, James, is a Three Rivers High School graduate and has been a part of McMullen County since he was just a child, visiting his grandparent’s ranch as often as possible. Their son graduated from MCISD in 2018 and their two daughters currently attend MCISD as well. Both are athletes and active in UIL and FFA. Jennilee and James were married in 2005 and enjoy living the ranch life and trying to keep up with the girls!  Jennilee’s heart for the Lord guides her in all that she does. She is compassionate and humble towards all who enter through the doors of TBC.

Jennilee believes in keeping it real when diving into the word. She has never been one to pretend to know all the answers but certainly knows who holds them all and loves to lead everyone to HIM. “Love like Jesus” is her motto in life.
